SMART’s application platform provides a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) allowing all features to be accessed via Web Services.  What does this mean?  Most traditional application platforms have been designed to be very proprietary, closed and difficult to access via a third party platform.  Consequently interface development was very expensive and took a long time to implement and test.  By allowing our platform to be fully accessed via secure Web Services we can quickly and easily establish two-way communication between other applications.

SMART implements the GJXDM (Global Justice XML Data Model) and NIEM (National Information Exchange Model) models as a primary means by which to transmit information to 3rd party applications as well as to receive information from 3rd party applications.

SMART provides full documentation of our Integration API (Application Programming Interface) to customers for integration purposes.  SMART has significant experience integrating with Enterprise Platforms such as the Integrated Justice Architecture and other 3rd party platforms and systems.
